Civil War Fruit Pig, Girl, and Mystery Frog

Above is a pig. I was taking a page out of the book of an artist Ross showed me ages ago.... whose name I cannot remember. So I drew a fruit hat on the pig. Then I thought "Hey, he'd look wicked awesome in a cape." And so, a cape was drawn. Then I thought "Hey, cutlasses go really well with capes!" and so on, etc etc. What resulted is a pig that looks like he's a general of some sort in the civil war and is for some reason also wearing a fruit hat.

Below is a girl I drew. Then I drew that frog next to her... though I'm not sure why. I think I was just drawing without really thinking about what I was drawing and halfway through decided on a frog. He's not really done, but he looked way too pleasant to leave out. That's a nice way of saying I was too lazy to edit him out in photoshop.

Dinosaurs and Wood Nymphs But Not at the Same Time

Just some Dinosaurs and wood nymphs.... More stuff from dinner break at work. The dinosaurs are just dinosaurs, T-Rex and Triceratops. The wood nymphs are slightly more original I suppose. There's just something novel about a race of little creatures that wear little kilts and head-dresses made from leaves.

The column was called Dear Di, and it was a sex advice column. I found the old designs again and realized that hey, they're actually pretty okay. Figured I'd put them here.

This is an illustration I did to go along with an article I wrote for Ottawa University's campus newspaper 'The Fulcrum'. The article was about otaku sub-culture and why anime and manga have had such great success worldwide. In keeping with the article's theme, it only seemed logical to draw three of the most recognizable faces in anime. Astro Boy, Totoro and Pikachu.

Awkward Silence Greetings

Hi. As you may or may not know (probably not, I wouldn't be at all surprised) I have been working on some greeting card ideas. My idea for greeting cards was cards that caused an awkward silence and conveyed the feeling of an awkward silence, rather than having any immediately discernible punchline as I though that was much funnier. This is my traditionally animated student film called. It was created in the classical animation program at the Vancouver Film School and uses programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and ToonBoom Harmony, along with an outrageous amount of pencils and paper. And yes, I am aware that Persistance is not spelled correctly. This was ctually done on purpose, and it is a mistake I fear I shall regret forever as people say "Hey Brennan, you know you spelled that wrong, right?"

I've honestly always been a big fan of Daredevil, so much so that I could almost enjoy the steaming pile of cinematic feces that was the Daredevil movie (almost...... almost...............). Anyways, I've been disappointed with his general unpopularity due to his new association with Ben Affleck and decided to draw him. I'm not sure how that's supposed to help with the Ben Affleck problem, but you never know.

A Handy Dandy Lifedrawing Portfolio

Hi, I'm Brennan Bova and I'm a soon-to-be-graduate of the Vancouver Film School

We have to make a life drawing portfolio either online or in a hard copy to submit to our teacher at VFS before graduation. As you can see, I chose not to make a hard copy, because I think as an animator I've killed enough trees already, and also I wanted a blog and this seemed like a reasonable excuse to make one.

Below, you will see an assortment of 30 second poses, 2 minute poses, 5 minute poses and a bunch of extra drawings of things like portraits, caricatures, hands and feet, and I also included a few full-body poses since I couldn't remember how long the poses actually were.
